Brushcom presents new brush in Las Vegas

After the great success of their Rotor drying brush in the USA, Brushcom has taken the next step. The Dutch brush company sought and found improvements for the Star-shaped brush, which is widely used in the US.

“The Hover actually originated during the corona period,” says Lance van Hees, sales engineer at Brushcom. “On the TalkCarWash Facebook forum, we frequently read that operators were having issues with the Star foamed brushes. This ranged from performance to safety issues. Furthermore, we were looking for improvements on the products aesthetics. Especially when they have been packaged for a long time, they tend to stay in that shape. That is when we started thinking about a 2.0 model.”

The Hover is another brush that is specifically aimed at the American market. “Foam is more commonly used than in the European market where cloth material is still leading,” Van Hees knows. “The Americans were looking for a lightweight foam segment that you can easily retrofit.”
The Star-shaped brush parts are used for both side- and top brushes. You slide it over a shaft and then you wash the car with the sides of the foam material. “We found that there were some points for innovation. It’s much better to use the front of the foam material, because then you use a lot more surface area. We started from that philosophy and came up with the Hover.”

“The Hover is designed to create improved friction on the car. Starting point was that the Hover would be a one-to-one retrofit product, available for all machine brands. It washes with a lot more surface and friction due to it’s unique design. We also added safety bumpers in the design, these help operators to dial in the brush. These innovations ensure better wash results.“

According to Brushcom, the new brush is complementary to the Rotor. “The Rotor is the drying solution for the US market and the Hover is the washing solution for the US.”

Brushcom will also be attending Car Wash Show Europe 2023 as an exhibitor.
